So, what's with the tree?
Actually the tree in our logo is a perfect representation of the three
purposes contained in the catchphrase "a place to connect, grow, & serve."
Connect - The tree is connected through the trunk and
it's root system to something much larger than itself. For us there is a multiple meaning
to connecting.
- Connecting to God through a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ - The cross that
forms the trunk and branches of the tree represents the sacrifice that Jesus, made so
that, through His death, we can be restored to a right relationship to God through His
Son, Jesus. Click HERE to learn more about God's
free gift of salvation.
- Connecting to God through worship - It is through worship that we praise our God in
Heaven with our voices and our hearts.
- Connecting to people - God did not create us to live in a vacuum. The church was created
so that His people can come together to worship Him, study His Word, and encourage one
another. Sunday morning Bible study groups are a great way to connect with people.
Grow - Healthy things grow. A tree grows as it receives nutrients, sun
and rain. Likewise, growing spiritually requires that we receive the proper nutrients for
our spiritual lives. We receive direction and instruction as our Pastor preaches from the
Bible during worship. Also, our Bible Study groups offer an opportunity for all ages to
study God's Word to grow in our understanding.
Serve - The tree, being connected and growing, also serves. It
provides shelterand protection. Likewise, serving others is an important part of our faith
walk. Typically, our service falls into one of two categories; ministering to people by
meeting needs and reaching out to people who need to know about the love of God through
His Son, Jesus Christ, in missions.
