You probably have seen those
clever "Got Milk?" advertisements. Those ads, featuring well known people,
promote drinking milk as a cool, essential, and healthy thing to do.
In the same way we would ask "Got Jesus?" We consider Jesus as
an essential, healthy (dare we say cool?) part of a person's life. We believe that it is
not enough just to know about Jesus. To "Got Jesus" you ask Him into your life.
It's as simple as "A,B,C".

Admit
God created us to have a perfect relationship with Him. But we all have a problem, the
problem of sin. We must admit to God that we are a sinner. The Bible tells us in Romans
3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." The image here is
of someone shooting at a target and missing. Because of our sin, we deserve eternal
separation from God. The Bible calls that place "Hell". Romans 6:23 says
"The wages (what we earn) of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life
in Jesus Christ our Lord." We all must admit that we are sinners. |

Believe
But there is good news! Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love
towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." We don't
deserve to go to Heaven on our own (Romans 6:23 tells us that salvation is a "free
gift"). Because we could not find our way to Heaven by ourselves, God sent his Son,
Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. It is through our faith (belief) in Jesus that we
receive eternal life. |

Confess
Fortunately for each of us God gives us the opportunity to change the direction of our
life. God gives you and I the chance to turn our life towards Him and His love for
us. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved."
The word "saved" means that we are rescued from eternal separation from God
(Hell) and now have a spot reserved in God's presence forever. The Bible calls that place
Heaven |
|
The A,B,C's remind us that God has provided a
way to Heaven for you. But, in order to receive the free gift of salvation that He offers
you must make a choice. If you are prepared to yield your life to Jesus Christ and ask Him
to save you all you have to do us pray a simple prayer like the following,
"Dear God, thank you for sending you son Jesus to die for my sins. I ask
that you forgive me of my sins and give me the eternal life the Bible talks about. I
accept the free gift of salvation you offer me through your Son. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen." |
