Connect thru Worship

CONNECT

 • Connect thru Worship

 • Connect thru Bible Study

 • Connect thru Membership

One of the synonyms for connect is "join". Indeed, when we join and intentionally associate ourselves with a group of people then that group becomes OUR group. It is no longer "me" and "them", it becomes "us".

Joining Swartz FBC (or any other church) is a spiritual decision. It is not the same as joining a social or civic club.  One of the definitions of a church is "a body or organization of religious believers". We would add that a church is not just a body, but that it should be a family. A family cares, supports, laughs and cries with each other. That's the kind of church people want to be a part of. That's the kind of church Swartz First Baptist is.

While there are different ways to join there is one common element, a person who requests membership must have asked Jesus Christ into their heart. We call this a profession of faith. This is the most important decision you will ever make. Click here for more information.

There are three ways to join the Swartz family:

  • If you are a member of a Baptist church (and have made a profession of faith and been baptized by immersion) then you may join by letter.
  • If you are a member of another faith (and have made a profession of faith and been baptized by immersion) then you may present yourself for membership by statement.
  • If you have asked Jesus Christ into your heart and not been baptized by immersion then you may join upon your baptism. To learn how to ask Jesus into your heart click here.

Most people join at the end of a Sunday worship service when the pastor gives the invitation.   That is a time in our service when people can come forward and speak to the pastor or other advisors about spiritual decisions they are making. After a moment of prayer together, people who are joining are presented to the rest of the church family as a new member.
