Congratulations! You have followed the signs
and traveled down the right road, the road that leads to eternal life through God's Son,
Jesus Christ. You just asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and reserve a spot for you
in Heaven. But while your eternity is secure there are some things you need to do to learn
more about your new relationship with God and living for Him. Just like our human
relationships, our relationship with God must be cultivated and developed. How did you get
to know your best friends? You got to know them by spending time with them, talking with
them, and getting to know them. |

Pray daily - Prayer is talking to God.
Through prayer you confess your sins, discuss your needs, and look for guidance.
Spending time talking to God in prayer is necessary to learn more about Him and His will
for your life. A simple prayer outline to remember is ACTS. Adoration (telling God
how much you love Him), Confession (asking God for forgiveness for your sins), Thanksgiving
(thanking God for the good things He has done), and Supplication (asking God for
your need and praying for others). |

Read the Bible - We hope you have a Bible at home.
If you do not please let us know by calling us or with the form below and we will get one
for you. The Bible is God's Word and reading it gives us insight about God, His work in
the world, and us. The Bible tells us how we should live our lives. We also have a short
booklet that will assist you as you begin your Christian walk. |

Attend church - The Bible tells us of the
importance of church. The church is God's family of believers. Church gives you the
opportunity to worship God, to study His word, and to spend time with other Christians.
There are many churches and denominations, so it can be confusing. It is important to find
a church that teaches and preaches God's Word (the Bible). We would recommend a Southern
Baptist church (like Swartz First Baptist) in your area. |
