I continue to stand in amazement of my amazement of God's powerful work. I would think by now that I could get used to His handiwork. He shows me over and over again that His ways are truly higher than our ways. Today I stand before you on behalf of your Pastor Search Committee to proclaim His mighty works again.

Your Pastor Search Committee is pleased to announce that after months of prayer and due diligence, the Pastor Search Committee of Swartz FBC knows that God has directed us to the man whom we plan to wholeheartedly recommend to our church to be called as our next Pastor.

We appreciate more than words can express the support and prayers of our church body. With your support, God has clearly directed us to this candidate. We are excited to tell you that God's next Pastor for Swartz FBC has enthusiastically accepted our invitation to preach in view of a call on Sunday morning June 12, 2022.  As such, today we are announcing a called business meeting immediately at the close of our single service on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

On that Sunday, June 12, 2022, we will have one service at 10:00 AM. Before that, we will have a church-wide meet & greet time in place of Connect Group time. Our candidate’s schedule for Sunday, June 12, 2022, will be published soon.

We look forward to introducing our Candidate and his family on Sunday, June 12, 2022, but out of respect for his privacy and the needs of his current church, we ask that you patiently wait until that Sunday for us to reveal his name. This will give him time to inform his current congregation of God's calling for him and his family.

We are very excited to see how God is going to use our next Pastor to lead us to continue to Connect, Grow and Serve in East Ouachita Parish. This is truly an exciting time for our church and our community. Thank you for your support, past, present, and future, and thank you for your continued patience.

         Sincerely,

       Jay Mulhern

       Chairman, Pastor Search Committee

  • The committee continues to meet and walk through the journey of seeking out our next Senior Pastor. We ask you to continue to join us in prayer as we are actively seeking God guidance and direction each step of the way. The May Prayer Calendar will be updated online soon. Time and time again we are able to see His goodness and faithfulness over this entire process. The church's love and support towards this committee has been such a blessing. We would to take time to say thank you to all who participated in the recent Pastor Search Committee Survey.

3/28/2022

  • We are working on creating a landing page on our website for our Pastor Search process.

    • This page will do a couple of different things.  First, it will be a place for us to post updates on our progress for you to see.  We are committed to frequent updates.  Secondly, the landing page will be used as a portal for candidates.  We do not have this page operational yet but will have it soon and will make sure every member of Swartz FBC knows about this page.

  • We have taken a very intentional and serious commitment to bathing this process in prayer.

    • We have developed a Prayer Calendar that we have been using and sharing amongst the committee.  We want you to participate in our prayer for our committee (and our families), our staff, our church, and the search process. We plan to share this calendar in various forms (digitally, physical copies, through various GroupMe’s and Connect Groups). We desperately seek your involvement in praying for the previously mentioned areas of prayer.

  • We are working on preparing a church wide survey to make sure we are aware of the collective views of our church body.

    • We are particularly interested in:

      • Who we as a church body collectively feel we are

      • Who we as a church body collectively feel we should be
